the art wall

Shoreditch’s recognisable industrial look, very much depicted by the aesthetics of crittal windows, served as an inspiration for the Bower Art Wall, ‘Windows’ of Time’, designed by Dutch artists DeMakersVan.

As time goes by, it organically changes things. The city, its surroundings and inhabitants, they all move forward, grow and morph into something new. Functions, prospects and purposes shift.

‘Windows of Time’ uses the crittal windows of Shoreditch, which have seen times change and provided for new views, as a metaphor. Warping the geometrical structures into bio-structural cells, creates an array of facets that illustrate the thousands of stories, changes, hopes and beliefs that for years have already run through this part of London.
